  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby approves the agenda for the February 5, 2024 Council Meeting, as presented.

This is an opportunity for members of the public to speak to any item of business on the agenda (2 minutes per person). Members wishing to speak will need to state their name and the item of business that they wish to speak to. 

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby adopts consent item 5.1.1.;

    AND FURTHER, THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives consent items 5.1.2. to 5.3.10. for information purposes.

This is a Public Meeting of the Council of the Township of North Huron; thus a decision of Council may or may not be made this evening on the Zoning By-law Amendment.


If the By-law is passed by Council, the Clerk is required to send Notice of the Passing of the By-law to persons or public bodies that have made written request to be notified of the decision.


There is a 20-day objection period from the time of the Notice of Passing of the By-law has been mailed by first class post, wherein submissions/letters of objection or support in respect to the passing of the by-law, will be received by the Clerk.


If an objection is received, an Appeal is lodged with the Ontario Land Tribunal and at that point the Township no longer has any control over the time factor involved.


If Council does not pass the by-law, the applicant may Appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal.


If the by-law is passed and no objections are received within the objection period, the Clerk certifies that the by-law is in force and of effect as of the date of its passing and Notice is forwarded to the Huron County Planning and Development Department.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby approves the Zoning By-law Amendment File #01-2024; as it applies to Concession 10, West Part Lot 30, East Wawanosh Ward, Township of North Huron (38725 Belfast Road).

  • THAT for Zoning By-law Amendment File #Z01-2024; as it applies to Concession 10, West Part Lot 30, East Wawanosh Ward, Township of North Huron (38725 Belfast Road); (insert effect of public and agency comments on decision).

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives the Statutory Public Meeting - 2024 Budget presentation from the Director of Finance/Treasurer dated February 5, 2024, for information purposes;

    AND FURTHER, THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron adopts the 2024 Budget, as presented.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives the report of the Director of Legislative Services/Clerk, dated February 5, 2024 regarding an update to the Animal Control By-law, for information purposes;

    AND FURTHER, THAT Council directs the Director of Legislative Services/Clerk to present the updated Animal Control By-law for adoption at the February 20, 2024 Regular Council Meeting.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives the report of the Director of Public Works and Facilities, dated February 5, 2024, regarding the Cross Border Water and Sanitary Sewer Services Agreement with Sepoy Wiring Ltd., for information purposes;

    AND FURTHER, THAT Council adopts By-law No. 07-2024; being a by-law to authorize the signing of a Cross Border Water and Sanitary Sewer Services Agreement between the Corporation of the Township of North Huron and Sepoy Wiring Ltd., as it applies to Turnberry Plan 410 Pt Park Lot 32 RP 22R5900 Parts 2 to 4, Turnberry Ward, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry (249 Arthur Street), at the February 5, 2024 meeting.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives the report of the Director of Public Works and Facilities, dated February 5, 2024, regarding the Waste Management Recycling Contract Extension, for information purposes;

    AND FURTHER, THAT Council authorizes the Reeve and Director of Legislative Services/Clerk to execute the necessary documents to extend the contract with Waste Management of Canada Corporation until April, 2025 for continued curbside collection and processing of recyclable materials.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby receives the report prepared by the Fire Chief, dated February 5, 2024 regarding the transfer of funds from the 2023 Operating Budget into the 2024 Operating Budget for the Community Risk Assessment;

    AND FURTHER, THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby authorizes the Director of Finance/Treasurer to transfer $30,000.00 from the 2023 Operating Budget into the 2024 Operating Budget for the completion of the Community Risk Assessment.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby approves the request from the Barn Dance Historical Society for the placement of a plaque in the Town Hall Heritage Theatre;

    AND FURTHER, THAT Council directs the Director of Public Works and Facilities to work with the Barn Dance Historical Society for installation of the plaque.

  • THAT By-law No. 03-2024; being a by-law authorizing the borrowing of money to meet current expenditures of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of North Huron; be introduced, read a first, second, third and final time, be signed by the Reeve and Clerk, and be engrossed in the By-law book.

  • THAT By-law No. 04-2024; being a by-law to provide for Interim Tax Levies; be introduced, read a first, second, third and final time, be signed by the Reeve and Clerk, and be engrossed in the By-law book.

  • THAT By-law No. 05-2024; being a by-law to adopt the 2024 Municipal Budget for the Township of North Huron; be introduced, read a first, second, third and final time, be signed by the Reeve and Clerk, and be engrossed in the By-law book.

  • THAT By-law No. 06-2024; being a by-law to amend By-law No. 82-2008, as amended, being the Zoning By-law of the Corporation of the Township of North Huron; for a Zoning By-law Amendment, as it applies to West Part Lot 30, Concession 10, East Wawanosh Ward (38725 Belfast Road), Township of North Huron; be introduced, read a first, second, third and final time, be signed by the Reeve and Clerk, and be engrossed in the By-law book.

The next Regular Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 6:00pm in the North Huron Council Chambers.


The Wingham BIA Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Hot Stove Lounge at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex.


The Blyth BIA Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 8:00am in the Blyth & District Community Centre. 

  • THAT By-law No. 08-2024; being a by-law to adopt, confirm and ratify matters dealt with by the Council of the Township of North Huron at the February 5, 2024 meeting; be introduced, read a first, second, third and final time, be signed by the Reeve and Clerk and be engrossed in the By-law book.

  • THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron agree that there being no further business before Council, the February 5, 2024 Regular Council meeting be hereby adjourned at .... pm.
